A new CEO for Boston Scientific

Jim Tobin, chief executive of medical device maker Boston Scientific Corp. is retiring, and will be replaced by Ray Elliott, a 35-year veteran of the healthcare industry.
The company, headquartered in Natick, announced that Elliott will become president and CEO effective July 13. Tobin, pictured here, has been chief executive for ten years.
Elliott most recently served as CEO of Zimmer Holdings Inc. in Warsaw, Ind., an orthopedics company. In 2005 he was named "Best CEO in America" for Health Care (Medical Supplies and Devices), by Institutional Investor magazine. He was a member of the Boston Scientific board of directors from 2007 until earlier this year, and will now rejoin the board. Elliott will be Boston Scientific's third CEO.
