BBN Technologies wins $11.3m in gov't funding

bbn601.jpg BBN Technologies, the Cambridge firm that helped develop the Internet and electronic mail, said it has been awarded $11.3 million in funding by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency for the Wireless Network after Next program.

The Wireless Network after Next program "is developing technology and architecture to enable an affordable, highly-capable and rapidly deployable communication system that will provide the military with the capability to communicate with every soldier and every device at all operational levels," BBN said in a press release.
