A General Motors Corp. parts distribution center in Norton will close under the automaker's bankruptcy plan, which it officially filed this morning, eliminating about 70 local jobs.
As it restructures, GM will close 14 US manufacturing plants, as well as three service parts and operations warehouses, including the one in Boston.
GM spokesman Pete Ternes said the Boston facility is "where parts are warehoused for dealers."
Distribution centers in Columbus, Ohio, and Jacksonville, Fla. also will close, according to a statement released by the company this morning.
