Renovation phase begins at Cambridge school
Ground was recently broken to commemorate the start of an $84 million renovation of the Cambridge Rindge & Latin School, said the company overseeing the work.
That company is Consigli Construction Co. Inc., which has offices in Milford.
Separately, Consigli said it is partnering with Kirchhoff Construction Management to form Kirchhoff-Consigli Construction Management of Pleasant Valley, N.Y. Consigli said the partnership will strengthen its growth initiative in Upstate New York and complement Consigli offices in Portland, Maine, and Enfield, Conn.
As for the renovations at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School, Consigli said in a press release: "The 450,000 square-foot building will undergo exterior and interior improvements to become a modern facility that meets the high efficiency standards of the US Green Building Council. The scope of work includes all-new M/E/P systems, light fixtures, doors, hardware, casework, flooring, and important life safety system upgrades to the fire protection systems" as well as a new roof for the school.
The project is a joint venture with J&J Contractors Inc. of Lowell, Consigli said. HMFH Architects Inc. of Cambridge will provide architectural services, and TMP Consulting Engineers Inc. of Boston will oversee some components of the project.
