Streambank schedules Circuit City auction
Streambank LLC today said that a bid deadline and auction date have been finalized for the sale of certain intellectual property assets of Circuit City Stores Inc., the defunct consumer-electronics chain.
Bids may be entered until 5 p.m. Aug. 11, and the auction has been scheduled for Aug. 18 at the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, Streambank said.
Streambank is a Needham-based financial advisory firm specializing in intellectual asset valuation and disposition. Streambank said it was retained in April to assist in the marketing and sale of select Circuit City intellectual property assets such as the firedog trademarks, which consist of more than 50 US and international trademarks, and more than 60 URLs
Circuit City filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November 2008 and then said in January 2009 it would liquidate its roughly 560 remaining US stores, according to a Streambank press release.
