iParty, a Dedham-based party goods company, said it has opened four temporary stores for Halloween, including two in Boston.
“Halloween is our biggest sales period,” Sal Perisano, chief executive and co-founder of iParty, said in a statement. “It is such an important retail holiday we thought it was time to test the downtown Boston market and provide more options for students and professionals.”
On its website, iParty noted that it expects "Ladies Retro" and "Sports Cuties" to be among the hottest costumes for adults this year, and Hannah Montana and Harry Potter should be strong among kids.
Hit movies and TV shows often drive Halloween trends, and one costume genre with cross-over appeal for both kids and adults is Star Trek, according to the iParty website.
