Millipore, Roka Bioscience will collaborate

Millipore Corp., a Billerica-based provider of technologies, tools, and services for the life sciences industry, said that it will collaborate with Roka Bioscience Inc. to develop real-time molecular tests for biopharmaceutical applications.

Roka Bioscience is a new, independent company created through the spin-off of Gen-Probe Inc.'s industrial assets, Millipore noted in a press release.

In 2005, Millipore and Gen-Probe formed an exclusive partnership to develop faster, more reliable, and sensitive tests for contaminants commonly found in pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing processes, the press release said.
