Fenway Sports Group and the Hockey East Association said that Sun Life Financial, an international financial services company with offices in Wellesley, will be the title sponsor of the Sun Life Frozen Fenway series of outdoor hockey events at Fenway Park.

The January events include the first two outdoor college hockey games for Hockey East affiliated schools and two city of Boston community skating events. Among the events is a college hockey doubleheader scheduled for Fenway Park on Jan. 8, a Sun Life press release said.

"The doubleheader will include the first ever women’s ice hockey matchup outdoors when the University of New Hampshire takes on Northeastern University at 4:00 p.m.," the press release said. "Later that night, at 7:30 p.m., the past two men’s NCAA Division I Ice Hockey champions, Boston University and Boston College, will be featured in the first ever Hockey East men’s ice hockey game outdoors, which will also be broadcast live on NESN (New England Sports Network)."

Fenway Sports Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of New England Sports Ventures, which also owns the Boston Red Sox, Fenway Park, and 80 percent of NESN. (Globe Staff)
