AT&T beefs up wireless coverage at Logan
AT&T said it has enhanced wireless coverage at Logan International Airport by upgrading the distributed antenna systems serving the airport terminals.
"The upgrades include the addition of 12 antennas, each approximately the size of a box of chocolates, strategically placed throughout Terminals B, C, and E, providing expanded wireless signals for travelers, ground transportation workers, and airport personnel," AT&T said in a press release. "The unique and visually unobtrusive antenna systems add capacity to areas with a high density of mobile wireless device users. This will be especially helpful on peak travel days as we enter the holiday season."
According to AT&T, the upgrades will improve the user experience when consumers make a call, check e-mail, download a song or video, or surf the Internet on an AT&T device, the company said.
The expanded system is also open to other wireless providers, AT&T said. (Globe Staff)
