Fitchburg approves Verizon FiOS TV service

Fitchburg Mayor Lisa A. Wong has granted a cable franchise to Verizon Communications Inc. that will enable the company to make available its FiOS TV service to Fitchburg residents, Verizon said.
The authorization brings to 103 the total number of Massachusetts communities where Verizon’s FiOS TV is or will soon be available, the company said.
According to Verizon, FiOS TV offers more than 600 all-digital channels in Massachusetts and 18,000 video-on-demand titles each month. (Globe Staff
