Casual Male taps Netezza for data analytics

Netezza Corp., a Marlborough company specializing in data warehouse and analytic appliances, said the Casual Male apparel chain will use Netezza analytics to gain insights into Casual Male customers and their shopping habits.

Headquartered in Canton, Casual Male is a haberdasher for big and tall men. It operates more than 500 stores in North America and the United Kingdom as well as e-commerce and catalog operations.

"In order to provide stellar customer service, it's critical we have insight into all our channels-retail, catalog and e-commerce-and can adapt quickly to changing consumer needs," Dennis Hernreich, Casual Male executive vice president, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer, said in a statement included with Netezza's press release. "With Netezza, we can quickly analyze data and make fact-based decisions about merchandising, marketing, distribution, and store operations- enabling us to gain the most value from vast amounts of consumer information."
