ppingo.jpgBurlington's iBasis Inc., a wholesale carrier of international long-distance calls, said that Pingo, its prepaid international calling service, now has Pingo EZ Dial.

According to an iBasis press release, Pingo EZ Dial is a "new smartphone application that delivers automatic access to discount international calling rates for users of popular mobile devices including the iPhone, Blackberry, Treo, and phones using operating systems such as Nokia Symbian, Windows Mobile, and Google Android."

iBasis is currently engaged in a dispute with Royal KPN N.V., the Dutch company that owns a controlling stake in iBasis. Royal KPN has made unsolicited tender offers to acquire all of the outstanding shares of iBasis common stock not already owned by KPN and its affiliates. iBasis has urged its minority stockholders to rebuff the offers because they're inadequate.
