bcec115.jpgThe Massachusetts Convention Center Authority and Cambridge-based Swift Mobile said they plan to beta-test a special iPhone app this weekend at the mid-winter meeting of the American Library Association at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

According to the convention center authority, the meeting's 13,000 expected attendees can get a free download of the app from Apple Inc.'s iTunes store.

The app is titled myBCEC, and convention-center attendees can use it to plan their "visit to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center and experiencing a large meeting or conference in a new light," the authority said in a press release. "The app imbeds an events hashtag automatically and allows attendees to post links to facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter."
