tdbank120.jpgMassachusetts small businesses say they weathered the recession better than the rest of the Northeast, and are more optimistic that the economy will recover fully in 2010, according to a survey conducted by TD Bank.

"A surprising 37 percent of Massachusetts small business owners report that the recession had no impact whatsoever on their business, compared with 26 percent of all Northeast respondents, and while 58 percent of the Bay State's small business owners say their business was negatively impacted, 66 percent of their peers were hurting," TD Bank said in a press release.

The survey of business owners with fewer than 20 employees was conducted by Angus Reid Strategies from Dec. 16 to Dec. 22, said TD Bank, which has more than 1,000 US locations from Maine to Florida.
