mcintosh129.jpgChris McIntosh (right) has been named the new publisher of the Boston Business Journal, the BBJ reported on its website. His appointment is effective immediately. He replaces Michael Olivieri, who was recently promoted to the newly created role of chief revenue officer of American City Business Journals Inc., the North Carolina-based parent company of the BBJ and similar publications in 40 US cities. McIntosh worked at the BBJ from 1996 to 2004 as a sales manager and senior advertising consultant. He most recently served as vice president and associate publisher for Haute Living and associate publisher with the luxury publishing firm Curtco Media, where he focused on strategy and business development initiatives.

Paul J. Giannasca has joined Genocea Biosciences as vice president of development to help lead the transition of the Cambridge company's novel vaccine programs into the clinic. Giannasca spent nearly a decade at Cambridge-based Acambis, Inc., now Sanofi-Pasteur, before accepting the post at Genocea.

M. Roy Burns, Mark H. Carter, Hythem T. El-Nazer, and William D. Christ have received promotions in the Boston office of TA Associates, a private equity firm. Burns, Carter, and El-Nazer have been promoted to principal from senior vice president. And Christ, a vice president, has been elevated to senior vice president.
