Mass. officials look to expand electric vehicle use

The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources said that it has signed a memorandum of understanding today with auto maker Nissan North America Inc. that will launch a partnership to explore ways to expand the use of electric vehicles in Massachusetts.

"Electric-vehicle technology is a significant way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and expand our clean-energy economy," Massachusetts Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Ian Bowles said in a statement.
