MIT Sloan School of Management said it is launching a Certificate in Sustainable Business that will be awarded along with a masters in business administration degree.
The certificate program is open to all MIT Sloan graduate students who fulfill five required core courses and two elective class requirements with a focus on strategies for sustainable business, global climate change, and system dynamics, the school said.
The new program is an effort to reconcile free market capitalism, which currently often results in business models that strain the environment, with the need for more sustainable business practices, MIT Sloan said.
