Arnold Worldwide, the large Boston ad agency, said that it has been appointed as the lead integrated marketing partner for Huntington National Bank, a regional bank headquartered in Ohio.

An Arnold press release noted that Huntington invests more than $40 million annually in its marketing and communications programs. Arnold’s sister agency, MPG, will assume media planning and buying for the bank. New work from Arnold for the bank is expected to launch in June.

Huntington has more than 600 banking offices and 1,400 ATMs located throughout the Midwest.

For many years, Arnold created ads for Citizens Financial Group. When Citizens put out its advertising account for review, Arnold said last year that it would not compete for Citizens' business.

Last month, it was announced that Andrew Benett, co-chief executive of Arnold sister agency Euro RSCG, would take the helm at Arnold. To read a Globe story about that, please click here.
