Drew Cahill (right) has been appointed as the director of the Joint Enforcement Task Force on the Underground Economy and Employee Misclassification.
The announcement was made by Joanne F. Goldstein, the Massachusetts Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development.
Established by Governor Deval Patrick in an executive order issued in 2008, the joint task force is made up of more than a dozen state agencies working in collaboration to protect workers and restore competitive equality for businesses through targeted investigations and enforcement, and the education of business owners and employees about lawful employment practices, the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development said in a press release.
Cahill joins the joint task force after four years as a policy advisor in the executive bureau of the Massachusetts attorney general's office.
