Sean Clark has joined the institutional sales team of John Hancock Funds. Clark's new title at Boston-based John Hancock is managing director. Clark reports to Todd Cassler, head of Institutional Sales. In this newly created role at John Hancock Funds, Clark is responsible for business development with investment consulting firms across the nation. Most recently, Clark was director and head of consultant relations at DWS Investments. John Hancock is a unit of Manulife Financial Corp., a Canadian-based financial services group.
Jennifer Sullivan has been appointed to the position of vice president of marketing for Vertica, a Billerica-based provider of analytic database software. Sullivan joins Vertica from Ounce Labs, where she served as chief marketing officer.
Joan Parsons (right) will be the new president of New England Women in Real Estate, a professional organization that seeks to promote the advancement of women within the real estate industry. Alan E. Gold has joined TradeStone Software as chief marketing officer. Gloucester-based Tradestone Software focuses on merchandise lifecycle management solutions that unify the design, sourcing, ordering, and delivery of private label and branded goods. Previously, Gold served as chief marketing officer for Avotus Corp.
Regan Communications Group, a Boston public relations firm, has hired eight new employees. Brent Carney, a former senior advisor and press Secretary to US Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, is now a deputy team leader at Regan. Carol Yelverton, a former TV journalist with such stations as New England Cable News, is a senior account manager. Kelly O’Shea, former senior account executive at Duffy & Shanley, is a senior account manager. Caroline Beers, former account executive for Brodeur Partners is also now an account manager at Regan, as is Courtney Mendivil, a former event manager for Simpleosophy. Also joining the firm as an account manager is Sarah Murphy, formerly with the Frause Group in Seattle. Jonathan Spencer, former media and culture department manager at Bentley University, joins Regan as an account coordinator. Josh Singer, a former Regan intern, is now an account coordinator at the firm.
