John Maraganore, chief executive of Alnylam Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, has been appointed to the board of directors of Agios Pharmaceuticals, a Cambridge biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering and developing novel drugs in the field of cancer metabolism. Maraganore is the first independent director of Agios.

Bruker Energy & Supercon Technologies Inc. said its board of directors has been expanded to include Charles F. Wagner Jr. as a newly elected independent director. Bruker Energy & Supercon Technologies, a Billerica-based manufacturer and developer of high-performance superconductor wire products and devices, is a subsidiary of Bruker Corp. Wagner has been corporate vice president and chief financial officer of Millipore Corp. since 2007.

A. Michael Carroll III has joined Integrated Builders Inc. as chief estimator. With offices in Braintree, Integrated Builders is a construction management, design-build, and general contracting firm concentrating on suburban Boston markets in the corporate, laboratory, retail, and manufacturing sectors. Prior to joining Integrated Builders, Carroll served as an estimator, cost analyst, and project manager at Linbeck Construction.
