Hyannis hostel opens doors
Hostelling International’s Eastern New England Council is celebrating the official opening of the Angeline Crocker Hinckley Hostel in Hyannis today.
The new hostel has 44 beds and is located near the Hyannis ferry docks and less than a mile from the Hyannis bus station. It is also within walking distance of museums, shops, beaches, and other local historical, recreational, and cultural attractions, the council said.
In a media advisory, Hostelling International’s Eastern New England Council noted that it manages seven hostels in Boston, Cape Cod, and the Islands and is part of a network of more than 60 hostels in the United States and 4,000 hostels spanning 70 countries.
The Hyannis facility was donated by the late Ruth Rusher, and it is named for her mother, Angeline Crocker Hinckley, the council said.
