RCN debuts TiVo Premiere in Boston

RCN Corp., a provider of video, Internet, and voice services, announced the launch of it TiVo Premiere service for its customers in the Boston area.

With TiVo as the primary provider of RCN digital video recorders, or DVRs, local RCN customers will be able to "combine their digital TV, movies, Web, and music all into one box," RCN and TiVo said in a press release.

Features offered as part of the new service include a vast video on demand and music library; integrated search, which instantly scans across all programs - TV, VOD, and online content - to find exactly what a user wants to watch; and automatic recordings, RCN said.

RCN said it has 65,000 subscribers in the Greater Boston market.
