TJX plans to open Marshalls stores in Canada
TJX Cos., the Framingham-based operator of such off-price retail chains as T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods, said it is planning to open Marshalls stores in Canada, starting next spring.
TJX said it estimates that the Canadian market can support between 90 to 100 stores. Plans call for the opening of six stores in 2011. TJX added that it not yet ready to announce specific locations for the initial stores.
Marshalls will become the TJX Canada's fourth Canadian retail division, joining the Winners, HomeSense, and STYLESENSE chains, TJX said in a press release.
TJX said it currently operates 819 Marshalls stores in the United States
