Akibia names new chief executive

Akibia, a Westborough-based provider of data center, network, and security solutions, announced that Thomas Tucker, previously president and chief financial officer, has been named chief executive.

Thomas Willson, the company's founder and former chief executive, will assume the role of executive chairman of the board.

"Willson will remain actively involved in Akibia, identifying strategic growth opportunities and mentoring the leadership team," the company said in a press release.

Tucker joined Akibia in 1990 and was promoted to president in 2002, the release said.
