Tom Brady isn't the only one powering the New England Patriots.

Team owner Robert Kraft, his Kraft Group, and operators of their Patriot Place mall in Foxborough announced today they have completed installation of a 525-kilowatt solar system.

It includes 2,556 solar panels that will generate more than 625,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually for the shopping and dining facility. Some of the panels are visible to Gillette Stadium fans atop the The Hall at Patriot Place, the team's hall of fame.

In a statement coinciding with the project's completion, the Kraft Group says the installation "will help promote practical and cost-effective commercial applications of solar power."

US Representative Barney Frank and Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Ian Bowles were among the dignitaries on the speaking program.
