Theragenics Corp. said its subsidiary NeedleTech Products officially opened a new 73,000-square foot manufacturing facility in North Attleborough earlier this month.

NeedleTech designs, engineers, and manufactures custom devices as well as a comprehensive line of needle products, many of them for the medical device industry.

NeedleTech said that the new facility increases its production area by 30 percent and allows the company to consolidate two separate older facilities into one location.

In a statement, NeedleTech president Joseph Plante said, "The new facility allows us to provide faster turn-around and increases our capabilities, especially in the areas of metal fabrication, overmolding, clean room assembly and packaging, and quick-turn prototyping."
