Travelers flying out of Boston this Thanksgiving should come prepared for crowds.

Logan International Airport is expected to be the third busiest airport in the country this year, according to the annual Orbitz Insider Index, behind O'Hare International Airport in Chicago and Los Angeles International Airport.

Last year, Logan ranked sixth. Local travelers looking for a less hectic experience might want to consider flying out of Rhode Island instead; T.F. Green Airport is going to be the fifth least-busy airport in the country between Nov. 23 and Nov. 29, according to Orbitz.

But whatever airport passengers fly out of this Thanksgiving, it will most likely be busier than it was last year: Traffic is expected to be 3.5 percent higher than it was last year, according to the Air Transport Association.
