Comcast unveils new Android app
Comcast Corp. said that its Xfinity customers with Android-powered devices will be able to use a new app to access e-mail, voice, and video service features whenever and wherever they want.
The Xfinity Mobile app is now available for free, Philadelphia-based Comcast said.
With the new app, Xfinity customers with Android-powered devices can access their home voicemail, forward home phone calls from their Xfinity Voice service directly to their Android device, use the Xfinity mobile widget to quickly review their latest voicemail and email messages, sync their Universal Address Book to have all their personal and professional contacts in one place, and remotely program and manage their DVRs.
Comcast debuted a similar app for Xfinity customers with Apple Inc. devices such as iPads and iPhones last year.
Last month, Comcast rolled out Xfinity TV app further extends ability of Xfinity customers with Apple devices to search, discover, watch, and share TV shows and movies whenever and wherever they want. Expect a similar app for Android-powered devices soon, Comcast said.
