It's not easy inventing a new ice cream flavor --- after all, the Baskin-Robbins chain boasts a recipes "library" of more than a thousand flavors --- but a Chicago woman was up to the task.
Diane Sroga is the winner of the first annual Baskin-Robbins Online Flavor Creation Contest with her “Bunches of Crunches” flavor. The contest drew more than 40,000 participants and included an online vote, Canton-based Baskin-Robbins said today.
Sroga, apparently emptied the virtual candy store in devising her winning concoction. The Baskin-Robbins press release described "Bunches of Crunches" as "a combination of extra-rich, creamy chocolate ice cream with a sweet caramel ribbon and crunchy bites of HEATH bar and pecan" and added that it will be available as the chain's flavor of the month in June.
But perhaps more importantly, "Sroga’s flavor will be immortalized in the Baskin-Robbins ice cream library alongside world famous flavors World Class Chocolate, Jamoca Almond Fudge, and Gold Medal Ribbon," said Baskin-Robbins, a sister chain of Dunkin' Donuts.
