Children's Hospital receives New Balance gift
Children's Hospital Boston announced a $7 million gift from the New Balance Foundation to establish the New Balance Foundation Center for Childhood Obesity Prevention, Clinical Research, and Care.
The foundation is affiliated with New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc., a Boston-based athletic footwear and apparel company.
The foundation's gift will help consolidate and expand Children's Hospital's clinical research, patient care, and community health programs, the hospital said.
In a statement, New Balance Foundation managing trustee Anne Davis said: "The foundation's primary focus is the prevention of childhood obesity, and we will continue to fund initiatives that provide children and families with the tools they need to lead more active and healthy lives."
