AMSC gets another order from China
American Superconductor Corp., a Devens energy technology company that refers to itself as AMSC, said it has received an order for wind turbine electrical control systems from China's third largest wind turbine manufacturer.
The Chinese company is Dongfang Turbine Co. Ltd., or DTC. China, AMSC noted in its press release, is now the world’s largest wind power market both in terms of annual installations and total installations to date. No financial details about DTC's order were included in AMSC's press release.
Plans call for AMSC's electrical control systems to be used in DTC’s 3 megawatt and 5 megawatt full conversion wind turbines, which were designed by and jointly developed with AMSC, the company said.
