Auto insurance issues top a consumer complaint list
The Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation said that the most common complaints it tallied last year related to auto insurance, health insurance, and home-improvement contractors.
The office disclosed that information in a press release following a press conference today at which the Massachusetts Attorney General's office, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Better Business Bureau also put out lists of top consumer complaints for 2010.
According to the Massachusetts Attorney General's office, the most common complaints involved foreclosure issues and loan modifications.
The Better Business Bureau said it heard the most complaints about automobile dealers, and the top five complaints to the Federal Trade Commission included debt collection issues and issues involving prizes, sweepstakes, and lotteries.
