Conroy will head Fidelity Capital Markets

Fidelity Investments, the Boston mutual funds giant, said it has appointed Brian B. Conroy as president of Fidelity Capital Markets, a provider of securities trading and execution services for more than 20 million institutional and retail investors.

Conroy was previously head of Global Equity Trading for Fidelity Management & Research Co., the investment advisor for Fidelity’s family of more than 500 mutual funds with $1.6 trillion in assets under management.

Following his five-year tenure as president of Fidelity Capital Markets, Mark A. Haggerty has been named head of a new product development organization that spans across Fidelity’s institutional businesses, the firm said.
