Stop & Shop, Shell expand Gas Rewards program
Starting tomorrow, customers will be able to redeem their Gas Rewards points at roughly 600 participating Shell stations as well as at more than 70 Stop & Shop gas stations throughout the Northeast, the companies said in a press release.
Stop & Shop said its Gas Rewards works this way: "For every dollar spent at Stop & Shop on qualifying purchases, customers will earn one point, and for every 100 points they will receive 10 cents off per gallon of their next fuel purchase at Stop & Shop and participating Shell stations. Stop & Shop and Shell customers can save 10 cents, 20 cents, 30 cents or more per gallon (up to $2.20 off per gallon) by shopping at Stop & Shop with the Stop & Shop loyalty card."
In the latest weekly survey from AAA, the average price for gas in Massachusetts was $3.829 a gallon. A year ago at this time, the Massachusetts average price was $2.80 a gallon. AAA's weekly surveys focus on prices for self-serve, regular unleaded gas.
