Webster woman accused of stealing from EMC Corp.
A former employee of data storage company EMC Corp. accused of illegally using a company-issued credit card for more than $155,000 in personal expenses has been ordered held on $7,500 cash bail.
Madeline Vinton was arraigned Wednesday in Middlesex Superior Court on five counts of larceny over $250. If she makes bail, she must surrender her passport, remain in Massachusetts have no contact with EMC employees.
Prosecutors say the 35-year-old Webster woman was an administrative assistant at the Hopkinton company when the alleged credit card misuse occurred. Company officials alerted police when they noticed expenses that did not match her job. Purchases allegedly included plastic surgery, sports tickets, limousine rides, hotels and dinners. She also allegedly collected pay for overtime she did not work.
Vinton has pleaded not guilty.
