Charles River Laboratories opens biomedical diagnostic facility in Wilmington
Charles River Laboratories Inc., a company that provides drug testing and lab animal support services, announced the opening of its new biomedical diagnostic testing facility in Wilmington.
The 60,000-square-foot R&D services facility expands the company’s diagnostic capabilities for research model health monitoring, clinical chemistry, hematology, biomarker assay development, and immunoassay services, Charles River Laboratories said in a press release.
“Our new facility provides Charles River with additional capacity for growth, as well as the capability to utilize innovative technology platforms to advance the high-quality R&D services we provide our biopharmaceutical and academic clients,” James C. Foster, the company’s chairman, president, and chief executive, said in a statement.
The company has about 1,000 employees in Massachusetts and about 7,100 worldwide.
