TSA installs less-invasive body scanners in Logan Airport’s Terminal A
The Transportation Security Administration installed 27 high-tech body scanners earlier this week at Logan International Airport’s Terminal A. The machines use thermal imaging instead of X-rays and show a generic outline in place of an image of a person’s naked body.
Many passengers have expressed concern about the older scanners -- citing invasion of privacy as well as the radiation levels emitted by the machines. The new devices will be installed throughout the airport over the next two months, officials said.Katie Johnston can be reached at email@example.com. Follow her on Twitter @ktkjohnston.
