Alexandria Real Estate Equities Inc., a real estate investment trust focused on the life sciences industry, announced Monday four recent lease transactions at 400 Technology Square, which is in the final stages of a complete redevelopment.
Companies signing leases at the Cambridge property include the Ragon Institute, Epizyme Inc., Warp Drive Bio LLC, and Aramco Services Co.
All together, those leases account for about 162,000 square feet of space, Alexandria Real Estate said.
Upon completion of the redevelopment in the fourth quarter, the total square footage of 400 Technology Square will have been increased to 212,000 square feet, the firm said.
Although based in California, the firm has a big local presence.
Its Greater Boston portfolio is made up of about 3.7 million square feet of laboratory and office space. The firm added that it has about 100 life science and technology client tenants in the area, including Abbott Laboratories, Biogen Idec Inc., Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Eisai Co. Ltd., and UMass Memorial Health Care Inc.
Besides Greater Boston, the firm also operates in such markets as the San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego, New York City, and Seattle.
