ConforMIS relocates to Bedford as it looks to accommodate growth
ConforMIS Inc., a privately held medical device company that specializes in orthopedic implants, said Thursday that it has relocated its headquarters to 28 Crosby Drive in Bedford
The new space, combined with the manufacturing facility in Burlington, quadruples the total square footage of the company’s existing property to more than 120,000 square feet available for operations. ConforMIS added that it is retaining its existing facility in Burlington as a manufacturing plant.
“The expansion will facilitate the development of advanced manufacturing capabilities, new product development initiatives, and a broader commercialization strategy, resulting in more than 100 new jobs over the next 12 to 18 months,” ConforMIS said in a press release.
ConforMIS recently announced the commercial availability of its iTotal G2 total knee replacement system, and the additional manufacturing space will accommodate the growth of this product line as well as the company’s other knee systems, the release added.
In 2011, MassDevelopment, the state’s finance and development agency, provided ConforMIS a $1,445,000 loan from the Emerging Technology Fund to support the company’s manufacturing expansion.Chris Reidy can be reached at email@example.com.
