Four attorneys leave WilmerHale to join Choate, Hall & Stewart

Four attorneys from the private client practice at the Boston law firm WilmerHale are joining the wealth management group of crosstown competitor Choate, Hall & Stewart.

Choate manages about $2 billion in assets for wealthy clients and has 50 employees in the wealth management group. The move follows WilmerHale’s spinoff of its investment group into a separate entity called Silver Bridge Advisors. The group joining Choate includes partners Jennifer C. Snyder, Nan Giner, Michael L. Fay, and Brian W. Monnich and some of their staff.

It could not be immediately learned how much in client assets would likely follow the WilmerHale lawyers.

“We have a long and deep relationship with WilmerHale, and are thrilled to add this outstanding team of top-notch wealth management professionals,” said William Gelnaw and John Nadas, co-managing partners at Choate, Hall, in a statement. “Bringing together our two preeminent wealth management practices will benefit all of our clients, and will enable us to continue to grow materially this priority practice area at Choate.”
