BioSurplus opens Watertown showroom for buying and selling used lab equipment
BioSurplus, a California-based company that buys, sells, and auctions used lab equipment, said Thursday that it is celebrating the grand opening of its new 20,000-square-foot showroom and warehouse in Watertown.
Earlier this year, BioSurplus announced a $2.4-million investment infusion for its expansion to the Boston area, a hub of the biotechnology industry.
The company’s press release included a statement from Susan Windham-Bannister, the president and chief executive of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center. The center is the agency charged with implementing Governor Deval Patrick’s Life Sciences Initiative.
“With more than 500 biopharma companies calling our state home, I am confident that BioSurplus will find Massachusetts to be a great place to do business,” Windham-Bannister said. “We look forward to collaborating with BioSurplus as they become an important part of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Supercluster.”
Cushman & Wakefield said it represented BioSurplus in the lease transaction with the property’s landlord, Boston Development Group. Boston Development was represented by Nealon Properties.
