Millennium and Forest City refile petition to build an office and laboratory complex in Cambridge
Commercial real estate developer Forest City Enterprises said Thursday it will refile a petition with Cambridge city officials, who delayed action on the plan in August, to build a 250,000-square-foot office and laboratory complex at 300 Massachusetts Ave. outside Central Square.
The building would be occupied by Millennium Pharmaceuticals, the Takeda oncology company, which has about 1,200 employees in Massachusetts and is outgrowing its space in a half a dozen other buildings at Forest City’s University Park development near the proposed site.
While opponents of unchecked commercial development had objected to the 300 Massachusetts Ave. project during the summer, Forest City executives said they have received encouragement more recently from Cambridge officials and members of the public.
