Former Carbonite CFO joins Dyn

Andrew Keenan, the former chief financial officer of the online backup services company Carbonite Inc., has joined the New Hampshire technology firm Dynamic Network Services Inc., better known as Dyn.

Keenan, 51, a seasoned technology executive who helped take Carbonite public in 2011, joins Dyn during a period of fast growth. The Internet infrastructure company, which is based in Manchester, has more than 500,000 customers, including Twitter and Zappos, and about 200 employees. Keenan will be the company’s first CFO.

Earlier this month, Dyn also announced several other key hires. It added Dave Connors, former vice president of operation at the Waltham e-mail marketing company Constant Contact Inc., as its vice president of technical operations and Claudia Santoro, former chief technology officer of the video-sharing start-up Vsnap, as director of e-mail engineering.

For Keenan, Dyn is the sixth company he’s helped lead since leaving Deloitte in 1991. The others have either gone public or been acquired.

Dyn chief executive Jeremy Hitchcock would not say whether the addition of Keenan means that Dyn is destined for a public offering in the near future, but he said that’s certainly a possibility.

Keenan’s plans to leave Carbonite, which is based in Boston, were announced in September.

The company announced last week that it hired Anthony Folger as its new CFO. He was formerly CFO of Acronis, a data backup company in Woburn.
