HOLYOKE — A workshop will be held for homeowners in Western Massachusetts to learn about the process for seeking property tax abatements.
The eighth annual workshop will be held Saturday morning at Holyoke Community College in the Kittredge Business Center.
The free workshop is for taxpayers who believe their town assessor has overvalued their property. Both abatement and appeal requests will be reviewed. The appeal process is used in cases when the assessor’s office has denied an abatement request.
An overview of city and town budgets, levy processes and property tax rates will also be discussed.
