Dunkin’ Donuts said it is bringing back Angus Steak for a return engagement.
According to the Canton-based coffee-and-baked-goods chain, the breakfast public has been clamoring for the Angus Steak and Egg Sandwich, which features Angus Steak with a Pepper Fried Egg and American cheese on a toasted plain bagel. So this a.m. entree is back for a limited time at participating restaurants.
For folks ravenous at reveille, this could be an option. “Show your morning who’s boss,” is a marketing mantra for the Angus Steak & Egg Sandwich.
Early-morning beef buffs can also choose the new Angus Steak and Egg Wake-Up Wrap, which is served oven-toasted with a Pepper Fried Egg and American cheese on a flour tortilla.
‘‘We’re constantly exploring ways to bring our guests new and interesting breakfast options, and the introduction of Angus Steak last year was very popular with our fans,” Stan Frankenthaler, Dunkin’ Brands’ executive chef and vice president of product innovation, said in a statement.
Frequently updating its seasonal menu and introducing new items seem to be a big part of Dunkin’s strategy for driving repeat business and wooing new customers.
Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc., the chain’s corporate parent, reported just over a month ago that fourth-quarter sales at stores open for at least year were up 3.2 percent at Dunkin’ Donuts US locations.
The chain has more than 10,000 restaurants around the world. For 2012, Dunkin’ Donuts’ restaurants had global franchisee-reported sales of approximately $6.9 billion.
