Alliance with BlackRock will give Fidelity customers broader access to ETFs

Fidelity Investments, the Boston-based financial services company, said Wednesday that more than 10 million of its customers will now have increased access to investment tools and products thanks to a new strategic alliance with BlackRock Inc.

BlackRock’s iShares business unit is a provider of Exchange Traded Funds, or ETFs, and the alliance will give Fidelity customers improved access to a range of commission-free ETF investments.

“Through this groundbreaking alliance between two financial services leaders, we will leverage our complementary strengths to deliver leading ETF products and research that are unmatched to more than 10 million Fidelity customers,” Kathleen A. Murphy, president of personal investing at Fidelity Investments, said in a statement.
