Arcadia Solutions LLC, a Burlington-based provider of data-driven health information technology services, announced the appointment of Sean Carroll as chief executive, effective April 1.
Carroll joins Arcadia from Nuance Communications, a company known for its speech-recognition technology; at Nuance, he served as senior vice president of health information management, Arcadia said in a press release.
Carroll was previously CEO of Webmedx Inc., a portfolio company of Ferrer Freeman & Co., until it was purchased by Nuance in 2011. Ferrer Freeman & Co. is Arcadia’s majority owner.
“Sean’s extensive experience in health care technology makes him ideally suited to lead Arcadia,” David Freeman, chairman of the board of managers for Arcadia and a co-founding member of Ferrer Freeman & Co., said in a statement. “Having worked with Sean for over seven years at Webmedx, we are confident that he will be immensely valuable to Arcadia as we embark on the next chapter of growth as a company.”
