Ethan Allen, a Connecticut-based furniture chain with about 300 stores worldwide, including seven in Massachusetts, said it plans to relocate its Burlington Design Center store to a new site that will feature an updated format with a boutique-style layout and the latest in user-friendly technology.
Plans call for the new store to open by the end of the summer. The company has operated its current Burlington location on Cambridge Street for nearly 20 years. That location is a two-level store. The new 11,000-square-foot space at 6 Wayside Road is primarily a one-level location. The plan is for our current location to close as the new one opens.
“We are thrilled to bring this Design Center with a new concept in design to Burlington,” Amy Franks, Ethan Allen’s managing director for the Northeast, said in a statement. “It reinforces our message that we are no longer just a furniture store, but a resource for total home solutions.”
At the new Ethan Allen Design Center, customers can expect to see a boutique-style layout complete with the company’s newest products --- including Fresh Colors, which was recently introduced. Customers can browse fashionable, inspirational rooms as well as individual products --- such as lamps or custom artwork in dedicated “shops,” the company said.
The new Design Center will also have multiple touchscreen stations where visitors can preview purchases and view room-planning software to checkout layout options.Chris Reidy can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
