Jo-Ann Stores taps Demandware to support its digital commerce strategy

Jo-Ann Stores, a fabric-and-craft retailer with more than 800 stores, has selected the Demandware Commerce platform to support its digital commerce strategy, Burlington-based Demandware Inc. said Wednesday.

If you’re looking to make a baby cocoon, a keepsake calico print, or customized Easter decorations, Jo-Ann has you covered. The chain’s inventory includes yarns, blizzard fleece fabrics, and sewing machines as well as the tools and accessories needed to make personalized jewelry and home decor.

More and more, the consumer who practices home crafts and needle arts is evolving into a digital customer, and that’s where Demandware comes in, the company suggested in a press release.

“Jo-Ann Stores services an increasingly digital consumer and understands the importance of delivering a seamless shopping experience across its multiple channels,” Demandware chief operating officer Jeffrey Barnett said in a statement. “With Demandware, they have the tools and support to build distinct brand experiences that will further strengthen customer loyalty and drive revenue.”
